Licensing & Governance

LCCIA certification demonstrates methodology learning and assessed competency. Licensed Use Authorization addresses professional application. Governance concerns how evidence, review quality and permitted use are controlled; none of these replaces professional licensure or independent legal and expert judgment.

Responsible professional use

Keep competence, permission and accountability separate.

Before professional use, check the authorization, responsibilities, information controls and review process. The questions below address operational accountability; current program and agreement terms govern the actual permission to use the methodology.

01

Does the proposed work fall within the authorization?

Define who will use the methodology, the work they will produce and the organization in which they will operate. Individual, firm and enterprise pathways follow one standard, but the applicable agreement determines permitted use. Certification alone should not be treated as commercial-use permission.

In practice · what this means for the case

Before accepting branded work, confirm the current authorization and its scope. Use the Licensing Program page for the documented pathway rather than assuming a certificate covers every application.

02

Who is responsible for the conclusions?

A structured process cannot transfer responsibility to a template or automated summary. Material findings need sources, contrary evidence and review by people working within their competence. Specialist clinical opinions and legal determinations remain with appropriately qualified professionals.

In practice · what this means for the case

Set a review checkpoint before findings are communicated externally. Make clear who prepared, checked and approved the work, and which questions remain outside the reviewer’s role.

03

Are confidential materials and case information controlled?

Separate public program descriptions from instructor-controlled assessments, proprietary templates and client evidence. Sharing course answers or protected materials is not part of an educational overview. Case information should move through the agreed secure process, not informal email attachments.

In practice · what this means for the case

Check recipient authority and the permitted purpose before sharing. Keep the signed agreement, BAA and approved record-transfer process distinct from educational enrollment.

04

What happens when the scope or evidence changes?

A new work setting, a wider organizational rollout or contradictory records may require a scope check or revised conclusion. Annual authorization requirements and professional boundaries should be checked against current program terms rather than assumed from an old certificate.

In practice · what this means for the case

Schedule a scope and quality review when the engagement changes. For fees and renewal information, consult the existing Licensing Program details; request clarification on any unconfirmed terms.

Illustrative scenario · not a client case

Illustrative firm-use scenario

An analyst completes certification and a firm wants several staff members to use branded templates on client matters. The right next step is to confirm the firm’s applicable authorization, permitted users and review responsibilities — not to treat one person’s training as permission for the entire organization.

Confirm permitted use, named review responsibilities and information controls before extending the methodology to a new work setting.

For the underlying methodology, see Clinical Intelligence. General educational information; conclusions about an individual matter require record-specific review.

Governance checkpoints

What to confirm before professional use

01

Authorization scope

Permitted users, work setting and applicable agreement.

02

Quality review record

Sources, contrary evidence, reviewer responsibilities and approval.

03

Information controls

Confidentiality, permitted sharing and secure case-record handling.

Continue with the question your matter needs.

Begin with intake. The secure upload invitation follows the signed agreement, BAA and payment; records should not be sent by ordinary email.
